Our planet is a complex whole in which various forms of life intermingle and all is closely interconnected.

Thus the author himself found himself on the waves of photography, having come to the conclusion after years of wandering the world to photograph animals that another species of animal which we believe to stand above all others on our planet also deserves to be a subject of his work.

Evidence of this is his set of photographs capturing disappearing native cultures in Asia, Africa and South America.

In opposition to these are his black and white photos of Antarctica – a continent whose proud and inaccessible freezing bitterness remains a challenge for humans. But changes can occur quickly even in this part of the world. And they might occur in waves just as high as those which Václav Śilha has experienced in recent years while sailing to this wild part of the world.
