Czech Photo Centre showcases the best of NOOR photo agency’s ten year history. The multi-genre Czech Photo Centre is showcasing thirteen world-renowned NOOR photographers beginning on 13 October. The NOOR BY NOOR exhibition commemorates the works of individual photographers including, for example, Yuri Kozyrev, Kadir van Lohuizen and Francesco Zizola. The NOOR photo agency documents current events and issues wherever they occur in many corners of the globe.
“The Czech Photo Centre is celebrating a year of operation. Last year we launched with the work of VII Photo Agency. The NOOR BY NOOR exhibition is a worthy continuation of the idea that we want to bring the best of world and domestic photography presently available. Furthermore, this year marks ten years since NOOR was founded. So it will be a number of celebrations in one,” explains Veronika Souralová, Czech Photo Centre Director. Clement Saccomani, Director of NOOR will personally present the exhibition in the Czech Photo Centre at the vernissage on 12 October. He is also one of the judges for this year’s Czech Press Photo contest. The complete international panel who will subsequently be meeting in the Czech Photo Centre to select the best images of 2017 will also be introduced alongside him at the vernissage.
NOOR documents civil and political unrest, environmental issues, wars, famine and natural disasters around the world. For the tenth anniversary of its founding, the NOOR BY NOOR exhibition will include selected photographs whose impressions best reflect what marks NOOR out: confrontation with a dominant story inspired by empathy and interaction through visual narrative undertaken with integrity and passion.
The exhibition will be open to the public in the Czech Photo Centre every day except Monday until 3 December. From Tuesday to Friday, the exhibition will be open from 11.00am to 6.00pm, and on weekends always from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Entrance costs 50 crowns, or 30 crowns for concession tickets. The gallery is located at Seydlerova 2835/4 near the Nové Butovice metro station.
