Ladislav Kamarad wins both the readers and the children’s prizes!

22nd Nov 2011
The readers of iDNES prize and the children’s Alik iDNES prize, for which people could vote for several weeks starting with the announcement of the results of Czech Press Photo 2011, until the day the exhibition opened at the Old Town Hall, went to one photographer - a mountain climber and well-known nature photographer, Ladislav Kamarad. The winning picture that both the children and adults agreed on was the Milky Way in Sumava.

Because nobody expected that the winner of both the adult and the children’s prizes could be the same photograph, Ladislav Kamarad received from the director of iDNES and the editor-in-chief of iDNES two identical prizes: two crystal objects and two iPhones.

And which picture will win the VISITORS’ AWARD? That will be decided by visitors to the exhibition, which is on at the Old Town Hall until the 31st January 2012.  The choice here is wider: while the readers of iDNES had only the winning pictures to judge from (even though there were around 200 hundred of them), the visitors to the exhibition can chose from more than 500 hundred photographs.
